Ruco Line

RUCOLINE SPA. was founded in 1987 in Mugnano, just outside of Perugia.

The company’s history began with the idea of Marco Santucci and his wife, Daniela Penchini to import a new ethnic tricot shoe and distribute it in clothing distribution channels, different and decidedly more dynamic than the more classic accessory distribution channels. In just a short time, their product, Ruco Line brand, could be found in the main shop windows of the international fashion business.

Success was achieved thanks to Daniela Penchini, both an architect and designer, who decided to create something that did not exist at the time, that is, a totally feminine sneaker.

The “200” model, a totally new concept, combines sport inspiration and glamorous influences. The starting point was the classic sports shoe, deconstructed and reconstructed, inventively creating for each season a now unmistakable vulcanised platform with refined fabrics; even today, the Ruco Line shoe and accessory collection is inspired by this concept.

Each individual model is proof of the company’s intense passion for a product that merges the great culture of manufacturing with an exceptional ability to accommodate new cultures. The utmost attention is paid to quality, research, the selection of Rucoline-exclusive materials, with extreme care given to finishing touches.

Since its beginning, RUCOLINE S.P.A, has always invested in the innovation of production and distribution processes.

The company also makes significant investments in human resources; it currently employs 80 people within the creative, administrative and sales departments of its corporate offices. Its Headquarters are very modern, comprised of ultra-contemporary spaces created within a prestigious 19th Century tobacco factory, the result of an enormous restoration project, aimed at merging both past tradition and the future.

Thanks to Marco Santucci’s entrepreneurial spirit and innovative marketing approach, the company is in continuous expansion, strengthening both its commercial and distributive structures.

Its showroom located in via Montenapoleone in Milan fully reflects the company’s philosophy of quality, dynamism and modernity and it is from this showroom that the commercial and distributive operations for the Italian and Overseas markets are run. Particular attention is paid to today’s strategic markets including China, Taiwan, Russia, Eastern Europe and the Middle East and to developing partnerships with local distributors in countries where deep territorial knowledge is required.

In addition, RUCOLINE S.P.A. was one of the first companies to launch its own stores in some of the World’s international fashion capitals.

RUCO LINE has 22 mono-brand shops, twelve located in Italy and ten throughout the World including: London, Kuwait City, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Jeddah, Riyadh and Tokyo. Three new monobrand shops were recently inaugurated in the three cities considered to be symbols of the new China, Hangzhou Guangzhou and Shenzhen, at the prestigious Hangzhou Tower and Laperle shopping malls.

Rucoline products are distributed in more than 300 multi-brand stores in Italy and in 100 stores worldwide. Since 2001, Ruco line has been operating in the Japanese market through Rucoline KK, that has approximately 30 employees (the company is owned 100% by Rucoline S.p.A.) and manages 23 mini-shops located within the country’s most prestigious department stores.
